100% Perlite
Procision Perlite Coarse is cut with a ten mesh screen leaving all material to retain #4. Perlite ore is a naturally occurring volcanic glass containing a small percentage of water. When that ore is introduced to tremendous heat the glass liquefies and the trapped water expands creating a remarkable and versatile material. In an ongoing quest to improve the quality of our products we recognized the opportunity to begin producing another of our own materials. Success at a new venture is never easy but we're really excited about the quality of our production.
Perlite is created naturally by the hydration of obsidian. The obsidian ore is superheated in our state of the art furnace and popped like popcorn, then filtered through many different screens to allow Aurora Innovations to have extreme control over the exact size and consistency of our perlite. This amazing and versatile light weight media has a tremendous surface area and the ability to retain a balance of air and moisture.
HOW TO USE
Original Perlite is a versatile medium and can be used alone or as a component in mixes to provide increased surface area for a balance of air and moisture. Aurora Innovations Procision Perlite is a 100% pure and natural perlite ore that is expanded with heat only, for versatile input compliance. No additives, preservatives or processing aids are used, and our perlite is never irradiated.
